(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Dayton has ordered all flags be flown at half staff in Minnesota today (TUE) to honor the victims in last week’s Oregon shooting. That’s in accordance with President Obama’s proclamation that flags be lowered nationally. Governor Dayton says of Thursday’s shootings in Roseburg “the victims and their families deserve our honor, respect, and remembrance.” The president last week called on lawmakers and citizens to come together and find ways of reducing gun violence in the country.
