Gov. Mark Dayton
As top state lawmakers aim for a late August special session to pass a bonding bill, some say legislation to improve police/community relations should also be on the agenda after the fatal shooting of Philando Castile. Governor Mark Dayton says about that idea, “I think we need to give some very thoughtful attention to that, and I’m not sure we can do that properly in the amount of time available before the special session.” But Dayton says it’s absolutely on his agenda for the regular session that begins next January.
