Dayton says he’s open to special session, will send requirements to legislative leaders

Gov. Mark Dayton at Land O’ Lakes HQ

Governor Mark Dayton said today (Wed) about a possible special session because the legislature didn’t finish its work that he’s “certainly open to it, but I have my own requirements on the bonding bill in particular — things that were not included that I pressed for.”  Dayton says he’ll send legislative leaders his requirements right after Memorial Day — and one will be a health sciences building at the U-of-M. Republican leaders this morning in Maple Plain highlighted numerous traffic crashes along Highway 12, saying a group of Senate Democrats stood in the way of funding for critical roads and bridges. Democrats respond Republican game-playing over the Southwest Light Rail Line killed a bonding bill in the final minutes of the 2016 session.
