Gov. Mark Dayton
Governor Mark Dayton says the dollar amount of Republicans’ bonding bill, which the House rejected Thursday afternoon, is too low. Dayton says “first it was 600 million [dollars], now it’s 800 million. It just shortchanges the kind of investments we need for the future of Minnesota.” Republicans says it was a balanced bill, but Democrats claimed the bill catered to districts represented by Republicans. Other areas of the budget, including transportation funding, remain unresolved with just over three days remaining for lawmakers to pass bills in the 2016 session.
