Governor Mark Dayton is at U-M-D this morning (10am) and Saint Cloud State University this afternoon (1215pm) as he continues pushing Republicans for agreement on a bonding bill so he can call a special session. Thursday in Worthington, Dayton had words for Republicans who strongly oppose Southwest Light Rail in the Twin Cities. Dayton said, “It really bothers me when I hear, well, there’s nothing in it for us here in Greater Minnesota. Yeah, the success of the metropolitan area is vitally important to the overall well-being of the rest of the state — as the success of Worthington is vitally important.” House Speaker Kurt Daudt says there are significant problems moving forward with Southwest Light Rail, including two pending lawsuits against the project.
