Governor Mark Dayton is scheduled to meet Friday with a number of county attorneys on whether to proceed with investigations of Catholic Church officials, amid continuing allegations that they covered-up for priests accused of sexual abuse. A source tells Minnesota News Network that key prosecutors from Catholic dioceses will meet with Dayton, and Ramsey County Attorney John Choi will relate his experiences with the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. In addition to the archdiocese, there are five other Catholic dicoceses in Minnesota. Leaders of the archdiocese said earlier “there has been disclosure… at every stage of the bankruptcy process” and they’re disappointed it’s being criticized as a means of concealing the truth.
