Gov. Mark Dayton
Governor Mark Dayton met again Friday afternoon with top Republican lawmakers, but still hasn’t been able to convince them to have a special session to extend unemployment benefits for Iron Range miners, with the regular session about a month away. “People up on the Iron Range deserve better than wait, wait, wait,” Dayton says. He also wants the legislature to approve changes to Minnesota drivers licenses so they comply with federal REAL ID requirements. Republicans respond the federal government gave Minnesota until 2018 to do it.
