Governor Mark Dayton says 105 million dollars in federal money for road and bridge projects across Minnesota is unused because the legislature hasn’t given the go-ahead — and he’s asking them to do it by March 31st so work can begin this spring. MN-DOT Commissioner Charles Zelle says, “What concerns us now is when we see proposals coming from the House and the Senate that include this funding, it kinda implies that this is gonna be part of the overall transportation funding for the end of the session, which means that this — last year’s work — is really being delayed that much more.”
Zelle adds he can’t say for certain but “there is a possibility we would actually lose the funds if it goes well into the summer.”
