Gov. Mark Dayton greets MN Nat’l Guard troops Friday in Croatia
Governor Mark Dayton wrapped up his three-day official visit to Croatia with a reception hosted by the president of that eastern European nation, plus a stop at Croatia’s Ministry of Defense. Dayton says Croatia has “a difficult economic situation here. Right now they’re in a recession. Their unemployment rate is 17 percent, and the government was basically dissolved. They got just a vote of no confidence, so they have an election in September.” Dayton is in Croatia celebrating a 20-year partnership between that nation and Minnesota. He returns to the state tomorrow.
