Prosecutors have taken the unusual step of filing third-degree murder charges against a Richfield woman with a death wish who sped down a street in Bloomington and hit a city snowplow, killing one worker and injuring another. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says, “Anybody who drives a hundred miles an hour [at] 10:30 in the morning down American Boulevard and expresses desires to kill herself and others I think has a depraved mind. So that’s what we charged.” The charges allege 24-year-old Marie Hall told police she read in the Bible that “you must die by the flesh to get to heaven” and she was speeding because it was a way to “end all.” She remains hospitalized on a mental health hold.
