(Minneapolis, MN) — A decision is expected today on whether the officers involved in the fatal shooting of Jamar Clark will be charged. The 24-year-old Clark was shot and killed by police in north Minneapolis on November 15th. Earlier this month, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced that he would decide whether to bring charges against the officers, rather than taking the case to a grand jury. Clark’s death has prompted numerous protests from community members and just last week Minneapolis Police chief Janee Harteau released a video message warning protestors that violence will not be tolerated once the County Attorney’s decision is announced. In response, a group called “Those Who Seek Justice4Jamar” posted a video saying they will not tolerate police “engaging in excessive force against our community. We will not tolerate the criminalization of the African American community.”
