(Minneapolis, MN) — Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman is set to announce his decision any day on whether to charge the officers involved in the fatal November shooting of 24-year-old Jamar Clark. Late last week, Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau posted a video anticipating potential violence resulting from Freeman’s decision and said acts of violence will not be tolerated. Nekima Levy Pounds with the Minneapolis NAACP responds that the police need to be held accountable for THEIR actions and called for equity and for “our humanity to be acknowledged.” Hundreds marched in Minneapolis on Saturday demanding justice for Jamar.
