As Vice President Mike Pence tours Mayo Clinic facilities supporting COVID-19 research and treatment, state Democratic Party leaders are blasting the Trump administration’s response to the pandemic. Minnesota D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin points to what he calls the president’s “chaotic leadership and his decision to force states to go it alone.” Martin says, “Throughout this crisis, Donald Trump has refused to lead a coordinated 50-state approach to expanding testing capacity, which public health experts, governors and business leaders agree is necessary to re-open the economy.”
In a statement, the Republican National Committee says the vice president’s trip to Mayo Clinic “reinforces the Trump Administration’s commitment to fighting the coronavirus across the country.”
