Democrats say they’ll likely bring their $1.5 billion dollar bonding bill up for a vote Thursday in the Minnesota Senate.
Responding to one top Republicans’ comment that a bonding bill is “dessert” after the rest of the session’s work is done, Democratic Senator Leroy Stumpf from Plummer says, “This is not kind of the cherry on top of the dessert. This is meat and potatoes, right from the get-go.” Senate Republican Minority Leader David Hann responds Democrats’ bonding bill is very large, probably the biggest in state history.
Hann says Democrats might not have enough votes to pass their own bill because of an intra-caucus dispute over the Southwest Light Rail Line in the Twin Cities.
