Thumbs-up from both sides of the aisle as House Democrats and the Trump administration announced agreement to move forward with the president’s replacement for NAFTA. Minnesota Democrat Collin Peterson, who chairs the U-S House Agriculture Committee, calls the US-Mexico-Canada trade deal “great news for farmers, businesses and workers, in Western Minnesota and nationwide.” Peterson says the threat of leaving NAFTA without a deal would have been devastating and the agreement gives needed certainty to producers.
Former Lieutenant Governor, Republican Michelle Fischbach, who’s running for Congress in Peterson’s district, says with the USMCA agreement President Trump is delivering on his promise of negotiating better trade deals for American farmers and manufacturers.
Fischbach says House Democrats should end their “impeachment sham” against President Trump and pass the trade deal immediately.
