Dems say Trump Supreme Court appointment will be rallying-point in November election

July 11, 2018 By Bill Werner

Minnesota D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin says President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U-S Supreme Court brings focus on the importance of the November election.  Martin says, “We can’t afford to sit home and not vote and participate — because when you do that, things like Donald Trump’s election happen and as a result, we see the judge’s being appointed who represent extreme views.”

Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Jennifer Carnahan disagrees, saying Kavanaugh’s philosophy and approach will be very critical and important for the next generation of our country.  She notes Kavanaugh stated a role of a Supreme Court justice is to interpret the law, not make the law.

Expect a fierce political battle when Kavanaugh’s confirmation goes before the U-S Senate.
