Expect spirited debate at today’s D-F-L Party Central Committee meeting in Lakeville over a proposed resolution opposing sulfide mining in Minnesota — including the controversial PolyMet project near Hoyt Lakes — because of “unacceptable environmental impacts.” D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin is against the resolution, saying it would prove what Republicans have been trying to say, that Democrats don’t care about people in Greater Minnesota. Backers of the resolution want forums on the issue held across the state.
