Minnesota D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin and the president of the state college faculty union are at the Capitol this morning to fire the latest volley in the Minnesota attorney general race. They say campaign finance records show Republican Doug Wardlow accepted tens of thousands of dollars in contributions from the family that owns a for-profit college that was found guilty of fraud.
Meanwhile in the governor’s race, Democrat Tim Walz is bringing a group of mayors to the Capitol who support his “Community Prosperity Plan.” Walz introduced the bill in Congress that would allow counties and small communities to get grants directly from the federal government to improve child care, infrastructure, housing, Internet and health care — and Walz says as governor, he’d support the state kicking in money as well.
