The AFSCME state employee union is hosting a debate between Democratic candidates for governor this afternoon (115pm) in Duluth. Organizers say Chris Coleman, Tina Liebling, Erin Murphy, Rebecca Otto, Paul Thissen and Tim Walz will all be there. Two topics are likely to come up: Yesterday’s (Thurs) recommendation by a Republican-controlled committee that the legislature reject new two-year state employee contracts. AFSCME did not invite Republican candidates for governor to the Duluth forum, however. And D-F-Ler Erin Murphy is asking her fellow candidates for governor to return any campaign contributions from the N-R-A in the wake of mass shootings in Las Vegas.
