Senator Ron Latz and fellow Democrat, Representative Paul Thissen, say the Minnesota House and Senate voted overwhelmingly to prevent Internet service providers from selling browser data of their customers — but they say Republicans left the provision out of a major bill that’s being finalized. Thissen says, “Minnesotans are demanding that their privacy be protected… and that they get access to the services that are critical to participation again in the modern economy.” Republican lawmakers who are negotiating the bill were not immediately available for comment.
