Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler says the Minnesota House will “definitely have hearings” on a bill to legalize recreational marijuana. “I personally support legalization,” Winkler says, but he adds, “There are concerns about public health and the financial aspects of the system and so forth. So we have to work those issues out. It may not be that we can do all of that this session, with all the work we have to do.”
But Winkler says the Minnesota House “will take action” in the next two years. Meanwhile Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says a bill legalizing recreational marijuana does not have a chance of passing the Minnesota Senate this year.
