DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin
Minnesota Democrats are touting wins in yesterday’s off-year elections, including voters in Duluth electing Emily Larson the first woman mayor of the port city. State party Chairman Ken Martin says in a city as progressive and solidly DFL as Duluth, you would think it would have happened earlier — and Martin says he’s really glad it finally did. Larson will succeed Duluth Mayor Don Ness who’s retiring. Meanwhile, voters in Golden Valley elected D-F-L activist Peggy Flanagan, a member of the White Earth Nation, to the Minnesota House seat formerly held by Ryan Winkler.
