DFL senator calls GOP attorney general candidate “anti-gay bully”

October 18, 2018 By Bill Werner

The war of words is escalating in the Minnesota attorney general’s race with two-and-a-half weeks to the election.  Democratic State Senator Jim Carlson from Eagan stood with LGBTQ advocates at the Capitol Wednesday, saying he’s known Republican attorney general candidate Doug Wardlow since he was born and his children went to school with him and, “I knew then and experienced then what I’ve always known since about Doug: that he’s an anti-gay bully who seeks to belittle and discriminate against people based on who they are.”

Wardlow’s campaign calls Carlson’s statements “downright false” and demands an apology. They say Democratic A-G candidate Keith Ellison worked for a hate group headed by Louis Farrakhan, who has called homosexuality “filth.”
