Disaster aid available for flood victims in southern Minnesota (Audio)

Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is out with more details about the FEMA disaster declaration for home and business owners in the aftermath of September’s floods in southern Minnesota. Deputy Director Kevin Reed says the disaster funding can only be used for losses that were uninsured and not covered by another agency. Impacted residents can apply online, by phone, or on-site at a temporary:

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is January 30th. The deadline to return economic injury applications is August 29th, 2017.

To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance, applicants should register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or download the FEMA mobile app.  If online or mobile access is unavailable, applicants should call the FEMA toll-free helpline at 800-621-3362. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services should call 800-621-3362.
