July 2, 2021 By Minnesota News Network

3M Open tournament officials announced an official commitment from World No. 2 Dustin Johnson, who will be competing for the second consecutive year in the PGA TOUR’s 3M Open, scheduled for July 22-25 at TPC Twin Cities.

“We are thrilled with this early commitment and appreciate Dustin adding us to his summer schedule and we look forward to welcoming him back,” said 3M Open Executive Director Hollis Cavner.

Johnson, who withdrew with a back injury after the first-round last year, is ranked No. 2 in the world. The reigning FedExCup Champion, has 24 career victories, including the Masters last fall and the 2016 U.S. Open. He is the first person to win all four World Golf Championships and has won at least one PGA TOUR event in 13 consecutive seasons, the longest active streak on TOUR.

Earlier, tournament officials announced the commitments of World No. 13 Louis Oosthuizen, Rickie Fowler, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker and major championship winners Stewart Cink, Jason Dufner, Lucas Glover, Sergio Garcia and Charl Schwartzel.

Players have until Friday, July 16 to commit for the 156-player field and can withdraw at any time.
