The D-N-R is accepting applications until January 10th from those interested in serving on a new Outdoor Recreation Task Force. The agency’s Randolph Briley says one discussion area is potentially establishing a state Office of Outdoor Recreation, “to really take a kind of a holistic view of outdoor recreation and all the interests that are tied to it — whether it’s economic development, tourism, parks and rec, natural resources, health benefits, education — just you name it.”
Governor Tim Walz says the task force will bring together a community of leaders to make recommendations that ensure Minnesota is second-to-none in outdoor recreation and economic opportunity.
