Over 51-thousand people now live in downtown Minneapolis — a 60-percent increase since 2006, according to latest figures from the Minneapolis Downtown Council. The business association says more than 10 thousand people have moved into the downtown area since 2017. About 25-hundred rental units are currently under construction. Meanwhile, the Star Tribune reports more than half the units are already sold in a 41-story luxury condominium tower that’s under construction along the Mississippi River. Prices start at 900-thousand dollars and some of the condos cost over seven million.
