The man accused of crashing into a Metro Transit bus and killing a passenger in St. Paul Friday has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide. Witnesses say 26-year-old Tyler Bjelland was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed when he hit a median, causing his vehicle to go airborne and slicing through the middle section of the bus. Police say Bjelland had to be extricated from his car and smelled of alcohol. 48-year-old Kenneth Foster was killed in the crash. Several other bus passengers suffered injuries, and one remains in critical condition. Bjelland’s first court appearance is set for tomorrow.
