The driver of a car that spun out of control near Moorhead Monday held a gun to the head of a state trooper who stopped to provide assistance, according to court documents. Officials say the car was stolen from Wisconsin and as the trooper attempted to handcuff a 29-year-old female passenger, the driver, also a female, pulled out a handgun and attempted to pull the trigger. The gun did not discharge. The trooper then shot the woman in the right arm and she ran into a nearby field. After a struggle with the trooper, the passenger was handcuffed and placed in the trooper’s squad car. The driver, who has not formally been charged, has active warrants in Wisconsin for kidnapping and gun-related charges.
