It’s expected Drug Enforcement Administration officials tomorrow will announce the agency is opening an office in Duluth. Officials are saying little before the morning event at Duluth City Hall except that they’ll “discuss the growing needs of the DEA to combat opioids, methamphetamine and other illicit drugs plaguing the state.” Duluth Mayor Emily Larson and Police Chief Mike Tusken will both be on hand. Late last week, prosecutors announced a 15-count federal indictment against two Duluth men in an alleged conspiracy to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin.
