More people died in drunk driving-related crashes in Minnesota in 2015 compared to 2014, but the numbers are lower than they were ten years ago. In 2015, 95 people were killed in drunk driving-related crashes. This compared to 88 people in 2014. State public safety officials say drunk driving-related deaths accounted for 23-percent of all traffic fatalities in 2015, and alcohol-related injuries accounted for seven percent of all traffic injuries that year. Motorists are being reminded there will be extra DWI enforcement over the Labor Day holiday.
