It’s the duck hunting opener tomorrow in Minnesota. On the season’s prospects, the D-N-R’s Steve Cordts tells us overall breeding populations in Minnesota and on the continent were good this year. “They’ve been pretty high of late,” he says, “so I’d expect, if Mother Nature cooperates a little and we have some favorable weather, we should have a pretty decent hunting season as far as harvest.” Officials predicts about 50 thousand hunters out for this weekend’s opener.
