A Duluth Police officer is in jail on a domestic assault charge. According to a statement from Duluth Police, the alleged assault took place early Sunday outside of Duluth in a non-incorporated area of St. Louis County. In a statement, Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay said, “I am disappointed to learn about this incident, but will refrain from further comment until the investigations are complete. I will be open and transparent to our community without jeopardizing the investigation process.” Ramsay went on to say, “It is imperative to the integrity of the Duluth Police Department and the sense of trust that our community has in us that domestic violence will not be tolerated.”
