The Annual Duluth-Superior Pride Festival expects 40 to 60 thousand people to attend a variety of events this weekend to celebrate 30 years.
The gay pride festival was established in 1986 and organizers say the 2016 version will spotlight all the traditional events plus some new features.
Today starting at 11 a-m, the family friendly festival moves to Bayfront Park with live music, vendors of all types and fun for the kids with help from the Duluth Children’s Museum.
There is a parade along Tower Avenue in Superior starting at noon Sunday and then adults can celebrate by rail or on the water with two afternoon events. The Foo Foo Choo Choo on the North Shore Scenic Railroad, and the Fruit Float Boat Cruise on the Vista Fleet, will both begin at 3:30.
The celebration continues into the night Sunday with the Drag Show fundraiser at the Main Club.
A schedule of events and ticket information can be found at dspride.org or on the Duluth-Superior Pride facebook page.
