The November 3rd election is one week away. Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says even though mail-in votes will continue to be counted up to a week after election day, he predicts “that we will know the vast majority of results and winners earlier rather than later, either on election night or shortly thereafter .” Simon says that’s because “we’ll know how many ballots came in, obviously, but we’ll also know how many ballots have yet to come in, we’ll know the number of outstanding absentee ballots, and we’re going to break it down by Minnesota State House districts, and that’s a pretty granular level.” Simon says mail-in votes must be postmarked no later than November 3rd and will be counted as long as they arrive by November 10th.
