Congressman and state attorney general candidate Keith Ellison says he supports efforts to block a federal government settlement that would allow the public to download plans for 3-D printed guns. Ellison says the guns could allow criminals and those who pose a danger to themselves or others more easy access to undetectable and untraceable deadly weapons. President Trump tweeted today, “I am looking into 3-D plastic guns being sold to the public. Already spoke to NRA, doesn’t seem to make much sense!”
Eight states have sued to stop distribution of plans for guns. Minnesota is not among them, but Attorney General Lori Swanson joined her counterparts in 19 other states in a letter asking the federal government to immediately block 3-D printed gun plans from appearing online.
