Farmers in Murray, Cottonwood, Lyon, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood and Rock counties in southwest Minnesota are now eligible for emergency loans from the federal Farm Service Agency. The U-S Department of Agriculture issued a disaster declaration in response to heavy rains and flooding in that area from June 17th through July 3rd. State Ag Commissioner Dave Frederickson encourages affected farmers to contact their local FSA office to determine their eligibility for the loans.
