Fresh off his primary win on Tuesday, Republican Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer says “the job interview continues” and as he campaigns for re-election he’s going to emphasize reducing taxes, economic policies and national security.
As for getting things done in Washington, Emmer says “Congress is going to have to re-assert its authority as the most powerful branch of government. We have for far too long allowed the executive to run free by not doing an appropriations process, not getting this thing under control. So it’s going to be up to congress to hold the executive in check going forward.”
Emmer will face Democrat David Snyder in November’s General Election.
