(Ada, MN) — A dispute over wages led to an assault and robbery in Norman County. Michael Kirchhoff and Jacob Schiel are both charged with 1st degree aggravated robbery and 2nd degree assault. The Arizona men were arrested Monday and are being held in jail in Crookston on $35,000 bond each. The two sugar beet harvest workers are accused of attacking a Halstad area farmer they worked for because they were upset about receiving less pay than promised. The victim told authorities one of the men held him in a chokehold while the other one beat him, while holding an ax and then taking cash from him.
