An environmental group says Governor Mark Dayton before making a decision on PolyMet should visit a mine in British Columbia, where over six billion gallons of waste were released when its tailing dam failed. Aaron Klemz with Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness says Mount Polley was one of the most destructive mine disasters ever. Dayton visited the site of a South Dakota mining disaster Tuesday and on Friday goes to a mine on Michigan’s Upper Pennisula which backers say has protected the environment while creating jobs.
