A 22-year-old Eveleth woman was sentenced today to nearly 29 years in prison for her role in the killing of her boyfriend in 2014. Janessa Peters was sentenced in connection with the death of 28-year-old Harley Jacka who was found dead in April of 2014 in his Virginia, Minnesota apartment. In November, Peters pleaded guilty for her role in the murder. Peters is the third of four defendants to be sentenced in connection with the murder. Officials say Peters originally told another co-defendant that she wanted Jacka killed because she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him.
