Former Vikings tight end Stu Voigt has been sentenced to six months in federal prison plus a 100-thousand-dollar fine for his role in a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme. The Star Tribune reports the sentence was much less than what prosecutors wanted. The judge says Voigt betrayed the public’s trust as chairman of a Bloomington bank when he approved a loan to his business partner but didn’t disclose that the man owed Voigt millions of dollars. Voigt, who’s 68, said in court today that he’s been hit hard his whole life, but this is by far the worst.
