Leaders of nearly all of Minnesota’s faith communities are urging President Trump to rescind his order temporarily halting immigration. A dozen Muslim, Jewish and Christian leaders spoke out in Minneapolis, Catholic Archbishop Bernard (BUR-nerd) Hebda among them. Hebda says, “welcoming the stranger is part of the Gospel imperative. The mission entrusted to us by Christ is to hear the cry of those in need and respond with mercy and generosity. ” He adds, “At a time when anxieties are running high, let us respond to fear with love, and prejudice with principle.”
