The U-S Justice Department is expected to announce today that it will assist local officials in reviewing the police response to protests outside a Minneapolis police station after a white officer fatally shot Jamar Clark. The Star Tribune reports federal and local officials will outline what kind of technical assistance will be provided. Protesters are demanding that charges be brought against the officers involved in the Clark shooting. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman recently sent the case back to state officials, saying further investigation was necessary.
