Governor Tim Walz is applauding the federal government awarding over 75 million dollars for additional construction on the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System that brings Missouri River water into southwest Minnesota, South Dakota and northwest Iowa. Executive Director Troy Larson calls the funding from the federal infrastructure bill “just a huge shot in the arm. Of all the boosts we’ve got through the years, this is by far the biggest.”
Larson says Minnesota sections of the project through Luverne to Worthington are already complete, but finishing other segments will bring down water rates for everyone, including Minnesota users.
