First-term State Representative Peggy Flanagan was in the national spotlight Thursday night, telling the Democratic National Convention she wrote a letter to her young daughter saying, “you are *not* Pocahontas.” Flanagan said, “Despite everything that has happened to our people, and no matter what Donald Trump says, we are still here.” Flanagan is a member of the White Earth Nation and represents Saint Louis Park.
