State officials are close to completing flood damage assessments from storms that tore through northeastern Minnesota the week of July 10th. Today surveyors are in Crow Wing County. Bruce Gordon is with the state Department of Public Safety and says,
“The counties are not going to qualify for assistance through FEMA’s public assistance program for damage to public infrastructure. The thresholds are just a little bit higher. But they will most likely qualify for the Minnesota State Disaster Assistance Program.”
Last week assessment teams were in ,Aitkin, Carlton and Pine counties. Gordon says once the assessments are complete, staff will turn over their findings, to Governor Dayton ,for final approval.
