A Forest Lake Police K-9 has died after a traffic stop incident late last night. Officers initiated a “high-risk” vehicle stop in the area of Highway 61 and 97 just after 11:30 pm. Ranger, the K-9, was deployed and an arrest made after the suspect driver was non-compliant with officers’ directions. Immediately after, Ranger suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to a veterinary hospital where he was pronounced dead. Ranger had been with the Forest Lake Police Department for seven years.
