Former Alexandria police chief Richard Wyffels was arrested Friday at his home in Alexandria following a year-long investigation by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. 57-year-old Wyfells allegedly charged nearly 66-thousand dollars on a city-issued credit card for an array of personal expenses, ranging from gas and electronics to a new car battery. Authorities say he’ll have a court appearance in coming days.
