A federal judge has sentenced the former superintendent of the Shakopee School District to 24 months in prison for soliciting bribes from a company in exchange for contracts with the district. Prosecutors say 53-year-old Rodney Thompson received more than 44 thousand dollars in home improvements, plus personal travel and access to sporting events. U-S Attorney Erica MacDonald says the violations occurred during Thompson’s entire time with the Shakopee School District and his “greedy and corrupt dealings have earned him a prison sentence.”
